Badge of Distinction of the Military Order of St. George, 3rd cl., #6128, Early
"Turkish War" Type issued for the Russo-Japanese War of 1904-1905. The
recipient, a sr. warrant officer of the 12th Siberian Rifles, later received a St.
George 2nd cl. for the same conflict. A very rare piece in VF condition.
St. George Cross for Bravery, 3rd cl., #79063, personally awarded by Grand
Duke Georgiy Mikhailovich on Emperor's orders to a Senior NCO of a rifle
regiment, Southwestern Front, "for feats of bravery and valor in 1914-15 battles
with Austrians and Germans". In superb condition , very uncommon for a WWI
enlisted man's award.
Order of the Red Banner, Type 3, Var. 1 ("Swallow Tail"), #82237, awarded in May
1944 to an artillery battery commander for bravery during the liberation of
Crimea. Often acting in close support of Soviet tank assaults, his battery
wiped out numerous German targets including two airplanes caught on an airfield.
This heroic officer earned a total of 5 combat decorations during WW2, including
the Order of Alexander Nevsky. The Red Banner, a very scarce transitional version
between screw back and suspension, is in fine condition. Comes with archival
research.
