Cabinet Photo of an Air Force Sergeant Major wearing a Guards Badge and 4 Medals; inscribed to his mother, 1945-48.
Measures 3 ½" x 5 ½", printed on cardboard matte photo paper lined on the verso for use as a postcard. The medals the sergeant major is wearing include WW2 campaign medals and Medal for Combat Service. The inscription on the verso is dedicated to the NCO's mother and starts with "In memory to beloved mother from her son Boris on the day of his 26th birthday." The rest of the message is only partly legible, something emotional about the mother seeing her son off to military service, but they will meet again.
In very good to excellent condition. The photo is in sharp focus, proving

In very good to excellent condition. The photo is in sharp focus, proving a nice opportunity to have a close look at the uniform, visor hat, decorations, and insignia. The verso shows minimal soiling. The inscription is somewhat faded but would have been legible if not for the piece of paper that stayed glued to the photo when it was removed from its backing.
