Silver gilt, enamels, 48.6 mm in height (incl. eyelet), 43.1 mm in width, weighs 23.4 g (26.6 g including the suspension bar). The reverse bears an inscription with the name of the award. The 6 o'clock arm of the cross is marked "925" (sterling silver).
Does not include the suspension ribbon; otherwise in excellent condition. There is no wear or damage visible to the naked eye except for two tiny hairlines to the 9 o'clock and 6 o'clock arms of the cross, not easily noticeable without magnification and not detractive.

The Order of Aeronautical Merit was instituted in 1946 to be awarded to Peruvian military personnel in recognition of outstanding achievements in
aviation and Peruvian Air Force. It may be awarded to foreign nationals as well.
