In brass and enamels; measures 12.8 x 39.4 mm, very well-made despite its small "lapel" size. Excellent condition.
Avtoexport was the agency tasked with marketing Soviet automobile production abroad. Despite the notoriously bad quality of Soviet cars and trucks, the Soviet automobile sector always found buyers abroad, especially in the Eastern Bloc countries or Soviet client states in the Third World. Over the years, Avtoexport issued a number of souvenir pins and badges, but this particular badge was apparently intended exclusively for Avtoexport reps.
