Belgium, Order of Leopold, Commander's Cross, Civil Division, with original ribbon and a spare set of ribbon ties, cased.

Sterling silver gilt, 88.7 mm in height (incl. the cross on the crown), 57.1 mm in width, weighs 55.9 g. The center medallion on the obverse has a rampant Lion in the center, ringed by the motto "L'Union Fait la Force" ("Unity is Strength") in gold on red enamel. The lion and the entire superimposed center medallion appear to be in solid gold, although we did not test this. The center medallion on the reverse features two face-to-face royal monograms "RL". Similarly to the obverse, the metal of the superimposed center medallion on the reverse and the royal monograms in its center appear to be in solid gold. The neck ribbon is in moiré purple silk 37 mm wide. The ribbon is threaded through a metal suspension loop with an eyelet connecting with the jump ring of the cross. The jump ring has the A950 sterling silver fineness hallmark next to the maker mark of Walraevens & Co. The cross and ribbon are in excellent condition, no wear or damage visible to the naked eye. The ribbon has a couple of stitches on the reverse, shortening its length and not detractive.

The case is in cardboard, laminated with plum-colored textured paper with gold edges, and a separate, un-hinged, lid. One of corners of the lid shows a small separation, not too obvious.
