Medal in Commemoration of the 10th Anniversary of Socialist Afghanistan, 1988.

In brass, measures 36.5 mm in height incl. eyelet, 32.0 mm in width. Outstanding, excellent condition. The finish is exceptionally bright and free of oxidation spots or blemishes. Includes well-preserved old ribbon.

Officially called "10th Anniversary of Saur Revolution" - referring to the overthrowing of President Daud's government in April 1978, it is one of only two anniversary medals established by the Communist government of Afghanistan before its fall in 1992. /State Awards of Afghanistan, p. 55/
