Duly inspired by these stories, children could proceed to the poetic part of the book where some of the greatest Soviet poets, including Samuil Marshak, Mikhail Svetlov, Sergey Mikhalkov, and several du-jour poets from Soviet ethnic minorities, compete in sycophantic verses. Some out of greed, some out of fear, most driven by both.
The book is in very good to excellent condition. The cover has acquired a few bumps, and shows minor scuffs to the edges and corners, but the cover is very clean on the obverse and shows just a couple of tiny darkish stains on the verso, not too intrusive to the eye against the large format of the book. The internal pages are all intact and in excellent condition. The binding is strong and tight.
