Silver, enamels; medallion measures 36.2 mm in height incl. eyelet, 32.0 mm in width; weighs 16.1 g not including the suspension and connecting link; the suspension device is 33.3 mm wide, 27.5 mm tall; overall weight with the suspension and screw plate is 31.6 g. Stamped number sign "N" and engraved serial number on the reverse. Comes with the first version of the Type 1 triangular suspension device, featuring a thin copper screw post of 2.7 mm diameter.

In outstanding, excellent condition. The red enamel on the hammer & sickle emblem and in the letters retains a beautiful luster and shows only a couple of microscopic contact marks that are completely invisible to the naked eye, no wear noticeable without magnification. The raised details are perfect and crisp. There are no edge knocks, scratches or any other noticeable wear. The silver on the obverse exhibits a nice even light toning, while the reverse has a minor amount of tarnish which is not detractive.

The suspension device is original and complete, including the triangular back plate, hexagon nut and the screw plate with the "Mondvor" logo (note that the screw plate is loose due to the worn threads of the screw, as is often the case). The connecting link appears to be original; its ends are still joined with solder. The ribbon likewise appears to be original to the medal and is exceptionally well preserved. The screw post is full length, approx. 10 mm long measured from the back plate. Overall, a great example of the earliest version of the Distinguished Labor Medal!
