Postcard to blockaded Leningrad from a Soviet Medical Corps officer of Polish descent joining "a new ethnic unit" of the Red Army, what would become the First Polish Army.

The size is continental 4 x 6", the obverse shows three postal cancellation stamps plus the stamp of the military censor. The message on the verso is handwritten by Medical Corps Lieutenant Viktor Kamenetsky to his family in the blockaded Leningrad. Lt. Kamenetsky describes the few days he got to spend in Moscow before being sent to the frontlines as part of the "new ethnic unit" which would later be known as the First Polish Army under the command of Gen. Berling.
