Photo of a Navy Officer wearing a Naval Guards Badge, Very Rare, and an Order of the Red Star. Inscribed, circa 1950s.

Measures 3 ¼" x 4 ½", printed on matte photo paper. Next to the Order of the Red Star, the officer has a WW2 Naval Guards badge, a rare scarce item on the collectors' market. The verso is inscribed with a humorous dedication to a friend, reading "In memory of our friendship. Apology for writing sideways, we are listing. Boris [last name], the Derzkiy." The last word which translates as "daring" must be the name of the ship Boris must have served on.

In very good to excellent condition. Boris pressed hard when writing, and the obverse shows his inscription in raised silhouette. However, this is mostly invisible unless you tilt the photo to reflect a bright light. There is also a small stain in the middle of the left edge, not too obvious or intrusive to the eye.

Please note that the penny in our photo is for size reference.
