Letter from a Medic, on a postcard with a view on a railroad bridge on the Trans-Siberian Railway, sent from the Ambulance Car of a Military Train During the Russo-Japanese War, 1905.

The size is standard 31/2" x 5 ½". Inscribed, postally marked and cancelled. The caption on the obverse identifies the photo as the bridge over the Bolshoi Kemchug River on the Trans-Siberian Railway. The card was manufactured in 1904. The cancellation stamps and the handwritten date of the message tell us that the message was written on 7 March 1905 and posted on the next day. The cancellation stamp is only partly legible, possibly saying "Ambulance Car", suggesting a military train. The message on the obverse appears to be from a medical corps officer or NCO to his wife or sweetheart. It was sent from Vladivostok, and says that a second hospital was to open in a couple of days, and the officer was waiting to be transferred there. The verso has a handwritten inscription "from active army" and is addressed to a house in Kiev.

In excellent condition. Both sides show negligibly little soiling, the corner bumps are tiny, the image is in very sharp focus.
