Order of the Red Banner of Labor, Type 5, Variation 2, "flat back with curved mint mark", #367774, circa late 1950s issue.
Silver gilt, enamels; measures 47.4 mm in height (incl. eyelet), 37.4 mm in width; weighs 36.3 g not including the suspension and connecting link. Based on available mint records, this specimen was manufactured in 1957 at the Leningrad Mint.
In excellent, near mint condition. The enamel is essentially flawless: it shows beautiful luster and has no wear with the exception of a single microscopic contact mark on the star that is not easy to find even under a 10x magnification. The details of the artwork including the hammer & sickle emblem are perfect and crisp; the gilt finish is pristine and exceptionally bright. Comes on original suspension, a two-layer model in steel with an integral catch of the pin. The old, probably original ribbon is immaculately clean. The connecting link appears to be original as well; its ends are still joined with solder in a seamless manner characteristic of the Soviet mint manufacture.
In short, this is a truly perfect example - practically impossible to upgrade condition-wise.
