The medallion is in solid 23 K gold, platinum, and enamels; measures 44.5 mm in height (incl. eyelet), 38.2 mm in width, and weighs 32.9 g (not including the suspension and connecting link). This Leningrad Mint sub-variation features a serial number stamped above the lower rivets.

The order is in excellent, near mint condition. The enamel is perfect, free of even the microscopic contact marks, flakes, or other wear that could be found with a 10x loupe. The golden wreath is essentially pristine; the platinum bas-relief has only a couple of microscopic contact marks that are completely invisible to the naked eye and not easy to find even under a 10x magnfication. The stippling on the reverse is perfect and beautifully defined.

The order comes on an original suspension device, a two-layer model in steel with an integral catch of the pin. The old ribbon is perfectly preserved and very clean. The connecting link appears to be original; its ends are still joined with solder in the seamless manner characteristic of the Soviet mint manufacture.

The Order Booklet was filled-out on 10 May 1966; it shows only a single entry for the Order of Lenin #338044 which was bestowed by a Supreme Soviet decree on 2 April 1966.

The order booklet is excellent, near mint condition. Neither the cover nor internal pages show any soiling or wear.

Also included are Two Award Certificates for the Bronze Medals of the VDNKh (Exhibition of Achievements of the National Economy in Moscow), #30350 and #55504, earned in 1969 and 1974, respectively. (Note that although the documents have their own serial numbers, both medals were unnumbered. Therefore, VDNKh medals of correct vintage can be purchased separately and in theory, added to the group if desired.) Both medal documents are in excellent condition.

To summarize, this is truly a perfect documented Order of Lenin - literally impossible to upgrade condition-wise!
