Medal for Victory over Japan, Variation 2, 1940s - early 50s.
In outstanding, excellent condition. The medallion is essentially pristine: it is completely free of any wear visible to the naked eye and has only a few microscopic contact marks that can be found under a 10x magnification. The details of Stalin's bas-relief and lettering are perfect and exceptionally crisp. There is only a very mild patina to the raised part of the bas-relief and lettering on the reverse, while the original "gilt" mint luster is very well preserved on both sides, especially on the obverse.
Comes on original suspension device, a single-layer model in brass. The old, possibly original ribbon is beautifully preserved and clean. To summarize, this is a truly superb example of the Victory over Japan Medal.
