KGB Honorary Certificate in hard presentation folder, issued on 26 October 1987 to Major Nikolay Trifonov (Николай Александрович Трифонов).
Comes with original 8" x 12 ½" hard presentation folder bound in maroon leatherette with gold impression of the USSR state emblem and the writing "Honorary Certificate, Committee for State Security". The document itself shows Lenin's portrait on one side and the badge "Honored Employee of State Security" on another. The citation reads: "in commemoration of the 70th anniversary of the October Revolution and to mark good results of work, shown initiative and perseverance in achieving the operational and service assignments". The latter of course could mean anything from a large number of enemy spies caught to good typing skills. Shows a red KGB stamp and facsimile signature of the KGB Chairman Viktor Chebrikov who was the chief of Soviet state security from 1982 through 1988.
The document is in excellent condition throughout; shows only very light wear to the edges of the hard folder.
