Bakelite Wall Plaque with a printed portrait of Lenin surrounded by an enthusiastic crowed on the eve of the Bolshevik Revolution, circa 1960s-70s.
Measures approx. 4¼ tall x 6" wide. Includes a provision to hang on the wall. The reverse shows a maker's mark, manufacturing standard code and a Soviet-era price of 1 ruble 45 kopeks. The artwork is in typical Socialist Realism style, a variation on the theme replayed countless times in Soviet paintings, monuments and other works of art. The Lenin is shown wearing his trademark three-piece suit, greatcoat and visor cap. He is peering into the distance apparently proud of what he has done, surrounded by a crowd of rebellious soldiers, sailors and armed workers ready to march and conquer all.
In excellent condition. The image is flawless. Minor scuffs to the reverse from being attached to a wall.
Please note, medal in our photo is for size reference.
