Leningrad Cigarette case in chromed plated steel, circa 1960s Measures 4" x 3 1/4".Leningrad Cigarette case in chromed plated steel, circa 1960s
Measures 4" x 3 1/4". The artwork is unusually detailed, featuring bird's eye view of some of the Leningrad landmarks including the Admiralty building, Cruiser Aurora and Peter and Paul Fortress. The vignette at the top has inscription "City Hero" and the writing in larger font near the bottom is "Leningrad". The back side features the Triumphal Arch that was erected in 1814 to celebrate Russian victory over Napoleon.
There are four brackets on both sides to allow the owner to carry either filtered or un-filtered cigarettes. Homemade elastic retaining bands inventively fashioned from rubber bands and thread.
In outstanding, excellent condition. There are neither
bumps nor noticeable wear to the chrome finish. This is a
very attractive piece and a visual lesson in Russian
history in and of itself.
