Interestingly, this badge is of the same format as the earlier "auxiliary" badges commemorating the 50th and 60th anniversaries, but somewhat better made, in heavy metal rather than aluminum. For reasons not entirely clear, the 70th anniversary badge is far more scarce than its earlier counterparts.
