Group Photo of Red Army Soldiers in Civil War Uniforms, dated 25 November 1924.
Measures 6 ½" x 4 ¾", mounted on a 7" x 5 ¼" cardboard backing. The verso of the backing is inscribed with the names of the men and where they came from. Most of them were from the Omsk and Irkutsk Provinces in Siberia, three others - from the Yaroslavl Province in central Russia, about 170 miles north-west of Moscow.
In excellent condition. The image is in sharp focus and contrast, providing a great opportunity to see the details of the men's uniforms, papakha fur hats and, and even the coarse felt valenki boots, traditional footwear for snowy Russian winters.
