The obverse features a photo of the Monument to the Conquerers of Space, a giant 107-meter tall obelisk, made of titanium, erected in Moscow in 1964 near the entrance to the VDNKh exhibition center fairgrounds. Under the photo is the image of a rare no-longer-awarded badge Pilot-Cosmonaut of the USSR. The badge, and the title, were established in 1961 after Gagarin's space flight. It was awarded exclusively to the Soviet cosmonauts after their first successful space flight. After the collapse of the Soviet Union, it was slightly modified and renamed Pilot-Cosmonaut of the Russian Federation.

The verso has a handwritten message in Hungarian. The postcard is addressed to someone living in Budapest, and was mailed from Leningrad. Unexpectedly, the similar Hungarian cancellation stamp is missing.

In very good to excellent condition. The obverse shows a bit of wear to the edges and corners, not reaching the artwork. The verso is very clean, all the printed and handwritten text is crisp and perfectly legible.
