The certificate is nicely decorated in red, showing a massive header with Stalin's portrait, banners of victory, and the six high orders the 5th brigade and five battalions which were part of the 1st Guards Cavalry Mechanized Corps, were awarded with.

In excellent condition. The paper is a little wrinkled and creased along the edges, mostly at the top and bottom, not very noticeable and not detractive. The artwork, printed and handwritten text, as well as hand signatures of the brigade commander Col. Myasnikov and his chief political officer Lt. Col. Gringersh are perfectly crisp and bright.

Captain Nikolai Kashcheyev was a highly decorated combat engineer / sapper, awarded with the Order of the Red Star in April 1943 for the unimaginable volume of mine clearing work he did in Stalingrad after the great battle was over. In September 1943 he was awarded with the Order of the Patriotic War 2nd cl. for building a pontoon bridge and then a permanent bridge across a river near Mirgorod, Ukraine. And finally, in May 1945 he was awarded with the Order of the Patriotic War 1st cl. for his road and bridge construction work facilitating the march of his mechanized corps across Slovakia onto Belgrade.

Please note that the medal in our photo is for size reference.
