The carbine clips on the belt loops and other metal hardware are in nickel-plated steel. The inside cross-strap has a stamp of the Karl Marx Factory with a "III (March) 1965" date of manufacture. In very good to excellent condition. The leather trim of the front flap shows wear and the stitches on an approximately one-inch portion of it at the bottom have come undone, but the damage is not very obvious, and the trim is overall sound. There are some cracks to the leather of the straps; nevertheless, all of the straps are still intact and fully functional. The map case shows very little wear otherwise, still very sound and presentable. Both the interior and exterior are perfectly clean.
