The lettering around the sickle is covered in dark blue enamel. Excellent quality.

In very fine to excellent condition. The enamel shows beautiful luster and appears practically perfect to the unaided eye, having none of the usual chips, rubbing or repairs. There is just a single tiny surface flake in the upper left corner of the top banner, nearly unnoticeable without magnification. The details of the artwork are perfect and exceptionally crisp. The silver finish is extremely well preserved having only very minimal, barely detectable wear to the highest points of the locomotive. The silver plating on the reverse is completely intact. The screw post is full length, approx. 12 mm long, and includes original 1946-type screw plate maker-marked "ShMZ MPS" ("Mechanical Stamping Factory, Ministry of Railroad Transportation").
