In aluminum with exterior painted olive green. Comes complete with the lid and handle. Measures approx. 6" tall with the lid on and 6" wide, about 1.3 liters (1.4 qt) liquid storage capacity. There is a Soviet-era round maker's mark stamped into the retaining handle for the lid near the hinge and a quality control ink stamp to the bottom of the mess kit. This mess kit is very similar to those used during the Patriotic War and can be a perfect item for WW2 Red Army reenactment.

In good condition. Shows evidence of minimal field use and some storage wear, plus some storage dust and dirt that may clean off nicely. There are some small bumps and dings but no significant dents. The original paint is overall well preserved having only some relatively minor scuffs and scratches. Some of the mess kits have initials of the original owner scratched on the side or bottom. As it is, the mess kit has the authentic "right out of the trenches" feel and will be excellent for the display of WW2 or Cold War Soviet army gear.

We sell the mess kit as is. Our photos show an example that gives you a very good idea of what to expect: if you order, we will select from our available inventory a mess kit in matching condition and of the same vintage as the one shown.
