Badge of a Veteran of the Order of the Red Banner Caspian Flotilla, circa 1950s-60s.
Brass, enamels. Measures 38.4 mm in width. Nicely made. Shaped as Soviet navy ensign, the badge shows a patrol boat and an oil derrick signifying the all-important oil fields near Baku (the ultimate goal of the German 1942 offensive which ended at Stalingrad). Note the Order of the Red Banner award inside the red star.
The enamel shows surface chip near the upper left corner, perfect otherwise. Very fine overall condition. Includes original unmarked screw plate.
