Group Photo of a First Grade All-Girls Class in a Moscow School with a huge portrait of Stalin as a backdrop, December 1952.

Measures 7" x 4 ½", printed on matte photo paper. Usually, a class group photo would be made to mark the end of a school year but the date on the verso is December 1952. This is a large all-girls class of first-graders, with their teacher in their midst. The first grade was the only year at school when kids were not wearing some communist affiliation membership badge. Next year, they would be summarily accepted to "Octoberists" and will wear a badge with the image of toddler Lenin inside a red star.

In excellent condition. Two creases at the lower right-hand corner are barely visi

In excellent condition. Two creases at the lower right-hand corner are barely visible. The shallow imprint of another slit which used to hold this photo in an album page is in the upper left-hand corner, and also barely noticeable.

Please note that the penny in our photo is for size reference.
