Military Archival Photo of Red Army Corps of Engineers Lieutenant Aleksey Izzheurov (Алексей Терентьевич Изжеуров), May 1941.

3 ¼" x 4 ½", printed on thin glossy photo paper. The photo presents an officer in field uniform with insignia of a Corps of Engineers Lieutenant. The archival entry on the verso identifies him as Aleksey Izzheurov. The entry bears the seal of the Leningrad Military Engineering School and is signed by the platoon commander. The entry is dated 23 May 1941, less than a month before the German invasion of the USSR.

In excellent condition. Tilting the photo to reflect a bright light reveals several microscopic contact points, not breaking the emulsion and invisible when looking at the

The ink on the verso is a tad blurry, rather typical when applying watered-down ink to photo paper, but the text is perfectly legible, and so is the seal.

Researching Izzheurov on pamyat-naroda.ru showed that he fought well and in March 1942 was awarded with the Medal for Valor for his actions while commanding a combat engineers company.
