The communique cites a breakthrough near the Ukrainian city of Melitopol, continued advances near Krivoy Rog resulting in the capture of over 50 localities including several larger towns. Also cited is expansion of the Dnieper bridgehead on the right bank, successful operations of partisan units in Leningrad Region, and capture of a large group of German troops to the north of Kiev.
