Photo of a Group of Air Force Pilots Studying a Map, late 1930s - early 40s.

4" x 3", printed on glossy photo paper. The obverse presents four Air Force pilots at an Air Force base or on an airfield, studying a map. Large tents seen in the background may have been erected for the troops, or as temporary hangar space. The Russian letters "БР" (BR) seen stenciled on the tent could stand for "brigade". Unfortunately, this is the only part of what was stenciled on the tent that is not blocked by the pilots.

In good condition. The dark dots and horizontal "scratches" seen on the obverse are all damage to either the negative or to the glass plate use

In good condition. The dark dots and horizontal "scratches" seen on the obverse are all damage to either the negative or to the glass plate used during the printing of this photo. The emulsion is unbroken and in excellent condition, showing just the tiniest amount of scuffing, visible only when tilting the photo to reflect a bright light. Overall, the photo provides a nice opportunity to study the pilots' uniforms and goggles.

Please note that the penny in our photo is for size reference.
