New Year's Greetings Telegram to a Soldier, 31 December 1943.

Single page 5 ¼" x 4", front only. This is not the telegram that the addressee receives but the slip filled in by the sender in the post office. This one is addressed to someone Letovich (Летович), Military Unit 421, the city of Serov, a district center in the Ekaterinburg Region in the southern foothills of the Ural Mountains. The text of the greeting is rather boilerplate and signed by last names only. Perhaps former students well-wishing their former teacher?

The slip has two stamps: the stamp of the post office dated 12 December 1943 on the obverse, and, on the verso, the personal stamp of the "telegraph corrector" L. Kiselyova.

In excellent condition. The ink of the stamps and the handwritten entries is not faded, both the printed and handwritten text is perfectly clear and legible. The slip used to be folded in four but the fold lines have long-since flattened out almost to the point of disappearance, still visible on the verso only.

Please note that the penny in our photo is for size reference.
