The communique focuses on the offensive operations of the First Ukrainian Front in the Kiev Region which resulted in liberation of over 60 localities, including several larger towns. Also mentioned are successes achieved on the Kerch Peninsula in expanding beachhead areas and sinking enemy ships with shore artillery fire. As in many other daily communiques, the last paragraph is an excerpt from a testimony about German atrocities perpetrated in the village Aleshkovichi, Oryol Region, given by surviving villagers.
