In very good to excellent working condition. At the end of our 24-hour test, the watch was still running but was approx. 5 minutes behind. It looks like professional maintenance and movement adjustment are due, and will likely fix the deviation.

The case shows minimal wear, not easily noticeable with the naked eye; the nickel plating has retained its original luster. The crystal is acrylic and almost entirely free of any wear. The level of wear to the crystal is congruent with that of the case, suggesting that (a) the crystal may be original, and (b) the watch was well cared for.

The history of the SLAVA brand is directly related to the Second Moscow Watch Factory. Founded in 1924, the factory began with small wall-clocks, alarm clocks, chess clocks and clocks for automobiles. The first wristwatches were produced in 1937. The first Slava watches appeared in the second half of 1950s and soon became the main product line of the factory. Soon after that, the factory itself was named "Slava". Its watches with the 24-mm caliber won several gold medals at international exhibitions.

The collapse of the Soviet Union led to great financial difficulties, reprofiling, and reorganization. The brand name survived, now as "The Slava Trading House", and continues manufacturing wristwatches.
