In outstanding, excellent condition. The enamel is perfect, completely free of noticeable wear of any kind. The details of the center medallion are perfect and crisp; the gold plating is extremely well preserved and bright throughout. The case of issue is the appropriate early version, measuring 12 x 10 x 2 cm, with oilcloth-covered lid, and the name and class of the award impressed in gold. The interior has a fitted nest for the decoration. The box is in excellent condition, completely sound and free of soiling or stains. There is a minor amount of wear to the bottom and the fitted nest, not detractive. The brass closure is fully functional.

The early screw back version of this award is quite scarce, especially in 1st class and with the original case included.
