Brass, 32.2 mm wide; weighs 17.0 g not including the suspension and connecting link.
In excellent condition. The medal is free of noticeable scratches, dings or bumps. The raised details of the portrait show only a minimal amount of wear and are still nicely preserved. There is a light tarnish on the raised parts of the bas-relief and a couple of tiny blemishes to the recessed field, none of it really detractive, while the original "gilt" mint luster is clearly visible on most of the obverse and nearly pristine, extremely bright on the reverse.

The medal comes on an early post-war suspension device, a single-layer model in brass with an integral catch of the pin. The ribbon is old but
very well-preserved and clean. Overall, an extremely attractive example of the Variation 1 Victory Medal.
