This book is the first in the series of books about Soviet badges by one of the authors of the 2012 reference guide Awards of Soviet Republics that had already become a "collector's bible". Just like the latter, Sysolyatin's catalog of Soviet sports-related badges and medals is by far the most comprehensive reference on the subject ever published - and will likely remain so in the foreseeable future. It includes high-quality photos of well over 1000 items, mostly from the author's own collection, all of them accompanied by a brief description and an estimated current market value in rubles. The book covers pretty much all subjects related to sports: award and participation badges of various Soviet and international competitions (with the emphasis on early issues from 1920s - 50s), medals for achieving records, membership badges of spots clubs (DSOs), qualification badges of GTO (Ready for Labor and Defense) program, and USSR sports ranking badges.
