The crown is in olive drab gabardine with red cloth band and red piping. Includes the appropriate NCO black plastic chin cord and dress cockade. The sweat diamond of the Moscow's Zarnitsa Factory shows a 1981 date of manufacture. Size 58 (US Size 7 ¼ / Large) is stamped in white under the sweat diamond. There is a factory quality control stamp to the underside of the sweat band.

Excellent condition, shows only minimal wear to the sweat band. The hat kept its form very well, not squished in storage as is often the case. The wool fabric is completely free of moth tracks. Both the exterior and interior are immaculately clean.

Overall, a superb example from the Afghan War period.
