Award Certificate (Honorary Diploma) for the Title of Honored Developer of Science and Technology of RSFSR, in the original folder, issued to Aleksandr Zalesskiy, 1966.
The folder measures approx. 9" x 12", with padded leatherette-wrapped boards on the outside and champagne-colored silk panels on the inside. The front cover features the state emblem of the RSFSR top center, followed by "Russian Soviet Socialist Federative Republic" and "Honorary Certificate" embossed, in gold.
The citation states that the title of Honored Developer of Science and Technology is bestowed on Aleksandr Zalesskiy by order of the Supreme Council of RSFSR of 11 August 1966 for outstanding achievements and educational work in the field of science and technology. The document bears the seal of the Supreme Council of RSFSR and is hand-signed by Chairman of the Council N. Ignatov and Secretary of the Council S. Orlov.
From 1985 until the collapse of the Soviet Union, an award certificate like this would come with a medal of Honored Developer of Science and Technology. Although the title existed since the 30s, the medal appeared only in 1985. They were back-issued to the earlier awardees who were still alive. Aleksandr Zalesskiy did not receive the medal, having passed away in 1976.
The certificate is in excellent condition, showing just the tiniest amount of scuffing to the head and foot of the spine, minor storage wear to the back cover of the folder, and a doodle in blue pencil on the silk panel inside the back cover. The embossed emblem of the RSFSR and the lettering under it look brand-new, retaining all the original gold luster. The document is pristine, all the graphics and text, the seal and signatures are vibrantly clear.
