The poster glorifies the outcome of the December 1937 elections to the Supreme Soviet of the USSR, when the entire Soviet Union voted almost unanimously for what the communists called "the bloc of communists and unaffiliated." As if a vote for some other party was a viable choice. As if another political party was still surviving under Stalin's regime. The picture at the bottom of the poster presents a moment when, in an outburst of political enthusiasm, thousands of happy Soviet citizens gathered on a square in Stalinsky District of an unnamed city to show their support for "the bloc of communists and unaffiliated." But did they? Take a close look at these faces, especially the ones under the poetic slogan "Stalin is the blooming youth of our life." This is not a photo, this is a drawing by an artist, who must have been exhausted after drawing so many almost identical faces under so many identical visor caps. Oh well! Hopefully, the Publishers of Political Literature hired a livelier artist for the XIII edition of History of the USSR.

In excellent condition, just very minor wear to areas of the edges, hardly noticeable on the large canvas of the poster. We showed the "worst offenders" in our photos.
