In booklet format measuring 3" x 4 ¼", in oilcloth-bound paperback cover. The lettering on the front cover includes the omnipresent communist slogan "Proletarians of all countries, unite!" in Estonian and Russian and, in large letters, "Trade Union Membership Card", also in Estonian and Russian. The abbreviation ВЦСПС (VTsSPS) on the bottom stands for "All-Union Central Council of Trade Unions." At the very top of the cover the owner's last name is handwritten in ink. The internal pages are watermarked with another communist slogan, "Trade Unions are the School of Communism." The personal info page states that Vladimir Malinovsky, born 1932, was a member of the trade union since 1948 as a sailor with the Estonian Steamship Company. The second page duplicating personal information in Estonian, was left blank because the sailor was clearly ethnically Russian. The ID photo is missing, a rather common phenomenon with trade union IDs. The word "Duplicate" is handwritten at the top of the personal information page. Normally, those were issued for a short period of time but this duplicate has almost four years' worth of paid dues.

In excellent condition, showing just minimal storage wear to the oilcloth of the cover. The internal pages are a little warped by the glue of the paid dues stamps. All the printed and handwritten textual material, as well as the seal of the trade union committee, are clear and perfectly legible.

Please note that the penny in our photo is for size reference.
