The size is continental standard 4" x 6", postally unused and unmarked. Published by IZOGIZ, the publisher's logo is printed in the upper left-hand corner on the verso. Circulation 200,000 copies. The artist's name, V.Viktorov, is printed in the lower left-hand corner on the verso.

In excellent condition. The obverse is near-pristine, showing just tiny corner bumps, not too obvious or detractive. The verso is clean, mildly and evenly age-toned.

This postcard is one of the earliest space-themed ones, published in the same year as the Sputnik's flights.
