Being an organ of the executive branch of the Soviet government, the magazine's main focus is on the day-to-day achievements of Soviet industry and agriculture, and propaganda of the heroic efforts of workers and peasants to increase their output. However, propaganda of their own religion, Communism, is never far from focus of the Soviet government.
There is a large number of advertisements on the inside and back of the cover, underscoring normality of the day-to-day life of the Soviet people.
