Grade school student's uniform belt and buckle circa 1940s-1950s.
Belt measures 39" in length, but has been folded over to fit approximately a 28" waist for so long that it probably would not readily readjust to a different size without damaging the leather; brass belt buckle measures 47mm by 63mm and reproduces the design of the M1948 student's hat badge insignia which featured a Cyrillic "Sh" in the center [for "Shkola" (School)].
Typical school uniform belt has a patent leather "look" to it even now although it was probably was much shinier fifty to sixty years ago.
