In magnetic steel, silver plating, "hot baked" enamel; the round base is 27 mm wide. Two-piece construction: the enameled star with crossed rifles with bayonets is a separate piece. By design, it's only loosely attached to the round base of the badge; the star would be tightly affixed to the bottom part when the badge is properly attached to the hat.
