Medal "From the Grateful Afghan People", 1980s issue.

Brass, enamels; medallion measures 32.1 mm wide. The obverse shows the USSR and Afghan national flags. The reverse has the writing "From the Grateful Afghan People" in Russian and Dari.

In very fine to excellent condition. The enamel has a couple of minuscule flakes that are nearly unnoticeable to the naked eye, otherwise perfect and shows a nice luster. The gilt finish is well-preserved and bright on both sides; there are just a few very tiny oxidation spots and mild tarnish on the reverse, none of which is detractive. The screw post is full length and includes an original
