Original Painting of a Bulgarian Young Pioneer Girl Swearing Allegiance to Stalin's Spirit, circa 1950.
Gouache, lead pencil, paper, measures 12" x 17 ½". Stalin's head is expressed in lead pencil to convey his spiritual presence while the young pioneer is swearing allegiance to the cause of Lenin-Stalin and the Communist Party. The painting is unsigned by the artist but the previous owner left an inscription on the verso that it was the work of Bulgarian artist Anna Majarova.
In excellent condition. The wear to the edges and corners is barely noticeable, much less than one would expect in an original work of art. The colors are bright and fresh. The pencil inscription on the verso
