Steel, bronze- and silver-plating, enamels; measures 27.3 mm tall x 26.0 mm wide; weighs 5.1 g without the screw plate.
In outstanding, excellent condition. The enamel has only a minuscule amount of rubbing, otherwise perfect and shows a nice luster, free of flaking or significant scratches. The bronze plating on the obverse and silver finish on the reverse are essentially pristine. The screw post is full length, approx. 9 mm, and includes the scarce original screw plate maker-marked "Moscow Artists Cooperative".

The badge was established in 1939 and produced only until the beginning of the Patriotic War in 1941. The training program however remained active at least through the end of the war.
