Order of the Red Star, Type 7, Variation 1 (according to Strekalov classification), #3115622, circa 1952 issue.
Silver, enamel; 45.3 mm tall x 47.3 mm wide. Features flared silver edges of the star. Relatively uncommon sub-variation with "curved in edges": the reverse of the arms is not flat, but rises noticeably toward the edges, with the hollow areas along the middle of each arm. The center medallion is of the late style, having the right boot of the soldier (left to the viewer) pointing left; the medallion is 20.3 mm wide, about a millimeter narrower than the other versions of Type 7 as well as the other types of the order.

The mint mark is approx. 9 mm wide, with both lines stamped in font of roughly equal height and with the letter "D" in the word "Dvor" having a flat top. Manufactured in 1952 by the Moscow Mint. This specimen is especially interesting because its serial number is slightly outside the range for its version shown in the Strekalov reference guide: 3082000 - 3114000. /N. Strekalov, V. Excellent condition. The enamel is nearly flawless, having just a single minuscule surface flake at the tip of the top arm, a couple of
microscopic contact marks, and no other wear noticeable even under a 10x magnification. The center medallion is nearly pristine. The screw
post is full length, over 12 mm, and includes the original screw plate.
