Excellent, near mint condition. The medal is free of any wear aside from a few microscopic contact marks at the edge that are completely invisible to the naked eye and are hard to find even under 10x magnification. The details are perfect and exceptionally crisp. The "gilt" mint luster is pristine and extremely bright on both sides, completely free of even the slightest tarnish or oxidation spots. Comes on original suspension, a late 1940s single-layer model in steel. The perfectly preserved, immaculately clean ribbon is old and likely original to the medal. The connecting link appears to be of the period.

To summarize, this is a truly perfect example of the Var. 2 Capture of Berlin Medal - literally impossible to upgrade.
