Silver, enamel; measures 37.1 mm in height incl. eyelet, 32.1 mm wide; weighs 18.4 g not including the suspension and connecting link. Late version featuring a rounded eyelet.

In outstanding, excellent condition. The enamel in the letters is perfect. There are no scratches, edge knocks or significant dings, only a few minuscule contact marks to silver, mostly on the reverse and all of them almost unnoticeable to the naked eye. There is a very attractive patina throughout. Comes on an original brass suspension with a very well-preserved old ribbon which is probably original to the medal. The connecting link appears to be original as well; its ends are still joined with solder. Although beautifully preserved, this Combat Service Medal (aka Military Merit Medal) still shows a great deal of character.
