Military Photo ID, series N #60993, of Enlisted Man, Carpenter at Odessa Air Force Pilots School, issued by a District Military Commissariat in Kiev on 25 February 1948 to Mikhail Popov (Михаил Николаевич Попов).
Standard 1946-issue booklet measuring 3 ¼" x 4 ¼", in oilcloth-bound soft cover. According to the ID, Popov was born in 1904 in a village in Voronezh Region. In 1926 he was drafted into the Red Army and assigned to Reserve. In 1933, he finished a construction vocational school. When the Patriotic War began, he was mobilized in August 1941 by a Stalingrad District Military Commissariat but was not sent to the front lines. Listed as a rifleman in the rank of private, he served / worked as a carpenter at the Odessa Air Force Pilots School until the end of the Patriotic War. Despite never being in combat, Popov's service earned him the Medal for Victory over Germany. In March 1955, he was withdrawn from the Red Army Reserves rosters upon reaching the age limit.
In excellent condition. The cover shows minimal wear to the oilcloth at the corners and along the spine. The photo ID page has an oil stain, rather faint and not obscuring any text. The rest of the internal pages are clean and show no significant wear, if any. The ID photo shows mild wear to the emulsion; the image is in reasonably sharp focus. All the handwritten entries and stamps are crisp and legible.
